■ Creation of Advanced Molecule Recognizing Compounds and Molecular Complex and Development of Their Functions
New materials and functions having advanced identifying capability for ions and neutral molecules of biological compounds will be developed. The development of functional materials with capabilities of molecule-capturing, molecular information converting and compound changing is in progress by utilizing the new reactions developed by us (such as tandem Claisen rearrangement.）
■ Fixation and Activation of Small Molecules by Newly Synthesized Complexes
The synthesis of new complexes to capture and activate smaller molecules equipped with oxygenase and nitrogenase functions in the biological system is under way. Particularly, the means for direct effective utilization of atmospheric nitrogen and oxygen through the isolation and activation is being sought for.
